From Rte 95 N, take Exit 50 to Route 1 North. In Topsfield, turn left onto Rte 97 North. At stop sign, go left (Rte 97 continues right). Topsfield Plaza is 1/4 mile on right.

10:00 am start for 40,20 and 10 mile rides.

This ride will cover flat to rolling terrain. Come join in Mike's annual season opening ride. POTHOLES, DIRT, CYCLOCROSS, maybe a new road, If they pave it in time.

The park is in North Reading center on Central St between Chestnut St and Rt. 62. From Rt. 128, take exit 40, follow Haverhill St 3 miles north, left on Chestnut St, 1/2 mile to park. From Rt. 62, Central St is 1/2 mile west of Haverhill St/Batchelder School.

Through Harold Parker State Forest, Middleton, Boxford, North Andover by a bit different route with some new cows. No cows on short route, unless you get lost.

April 16 Easter Show and Go

The long ride heads to Rockport and meanders back through Essex and Hamilton. The short ride turns back toward home in West Gloucester.

Surf Park, Magnolia (Gloucester) map to start
Take Rt. 128 to exit 15 and proceed to Manchester-by-the-Sea. From downtown, take Rt 127 3 miles east and turn right on Raymond St. Drive one mile to the center of Magnolia. Surf Park is on the left, and parking is on either side of the street.

9:00 AM for 20, 30, 46, and 62 miles

We ride counter-clockwise along the Cape Ann coastline, through Gloucester, out to the Eastern Point Lighthouse, along Atlantic Ave., out to Rockport, back through Annisquam Village, and with optional ride along the narrow winding roads in "West Gloucester" to Essex, then returning to Magnolia. A 62 mile "metric century" adds a loop to Ipswich. It's a great time to ride out to Rockport, before the roads get clogged with tourists. The route is marked with a yellow "Dan Henry", a circle with a line pointing the direction.

Besides a fifty mile loop, ride offers a sixty mile option that goes out to Stage Fort Park in Gloucester as well as a thirty mile route that doesn't go anywhere you haven't already been. Distances subject to change depending on which bridges are open at the time.

Ipswich River Park, North Reading map to start
From Route 93, take Exit 39/Concord Street toward North Reading (a right off the exit if you're heading north). Bear right at the stop sign (1.3 mi); cross Rt. 28 at the light; bear right at stop sign onto Park Street/Rt. 62 (1.8 mi); turn right onto Central Street (2.5 mi); turn left into park. These mileages are cumulative. From Route 128, take Exit 40 (the REI exit) and the Haverhill Street/Camp Curtis Guild spoke off the rotary. Turn left on Chestnut St. after 3 miles; bear right around the curve and then turn right on Central St. The park is on your right.

Serene back roads, farmstands, ponds, and potholes of the northern burbs. Have a picnic lunch at Ingaldsby Farm. Terrain is moderately rolling. Short ride tours North Reading, North Andover, Boxford, Middleton. Long ride adds Groveland and West Newbury. Lunch note for long riders: There are not many food options before Ingaldsby Farm at 34 miles (and Ingaldsby does not sell Power Bars; it is a farm stand/bakery), so bring enough snacks to keep you going.

Rt. 1A to South Hamilton. Where the RR track crosses Rt. 1A, right into the shopping center. Continue through the shopping center to RR station parking.

Enjoy some of the nicest cycling in our area. Generally quiet, scenic country roads in Hamilton, Topsfield, Ipswich, Georgetown and Boxford. Long ride adds Newbury and Newburyport. Generally flat to rolling, with a few small hills. Because the Dodge St. bridge in Rowley is still out, about 8 miles of the long route northbound, through Rowley and Newbury, will be on Rt. 1A. Wicked riding, wicked fun -- come celebrate Halloween in riding style. North Shore NEMBA has hosted this ride for many years, and it's always been a great gathering for mountain bikers. Saturday morning beginner Mountain Bike ride in Marblehead. 9:30 meeting time, 10:00 sharp ride time. Commuter rail access is available. This 15 - 20 mile MTB ride is a flat and easy ride for the beginner mountain biker. Being in good road riding condition is important since this ride... though a beginner LEVEL ride, this distance is too long for a non cyclist. Please ask questions if you're not sure about your ability.

Starting in Salem Center, we hit the rail trail of Marblehead. Flat and speedy dirt trails with an few short optional hill climbs for the beginner MTBer. Lots of scenic views of the coastline. Wait for all, frequent stops. This ride will also include the 5 mile loop around Marblehead neck, a popular bike route, and a bit of Old-Town Marblehead. Road riding is about 10 miles total.

You must contact me in advance for the ride meeting location if you want to attend. This is a follow the leader ride, no cue sheets or route maps are available. Space is limited to 12 riders. Please allow 3 hours for this ride. Please no one under 18, since we are road riding some of this route.

Route 93 exit 41 (for Route 125 North). Take a right at the 3rd set of lights (State Police Barracks are on the right). Bear left into HPSF on Harold Parker road and park in the dirt lot 300 yards down on left.

Plenty of fire roads, single track and some pavement for all levels surrounding many roads that are part of our road riding season.

Rt. 3N to Exit 29 (Rt. 129) East (left) 1 mile and take right onto Rangeway Rd. Straight across Nashua Rd. at stop sign. Take a right on to North Rd. Parking lot will be on your right. From Rt. 495, take Rt. 3S in Lowell. Exit 29 is the first exit off Rt. 3. Right onto 129, then as above.

9:30 AM arrival for a 10:00 AM sharp depart. Do not be late.

Exploratory surgery of whatever Willowdale has to offer. Let’s get lost for about 10 miles! This will be an intermediate/faster ride but we’ll be stopping periodically to catch our breath. No route but maps will be provided.
