What to expect: The Salt Marsh Tour passes through some of the most outstanding scenery in our area. We take Rt. 1A north through Rowley and on to Newbury over the 1A bridge. After riding through the Salt marsh in Newbury, the extra long route breaks away to take the bike lane to the park roads on Plum Island, rejoining the long route after passing through downtown Newburyport. Make sure to bring $2 for the entrance fee to ride 4 miles out and back in the Parker Island National Wildlife Refuge-- it's a visual treat! The medium and short routes turn back through the Marsh. The short route returns to Ipswich on Linebrook Rd., while all other options continue on to Topsfield, returning to Ipswich via Perkins Row and Ipswich Road. Route options and road names are well marked on the route map. This ride is marked with a yellow "Dan Henry" (circle and arrow) .
