Date and Time: Sunday, October 7, 2012: 10:00 am  for 15, 25, 41, 53 and 62 miles.

Start: Memorial Elementary School, Manchester, MA. map to start. There are two schools on Lincoln St. It is the older elementary school after passing the High School on the left, close to the intersection with Rt. 127 and on the right.

What to expect: We ride counter-clockwise along the Cape Ann coastline, through Gloucester, out to the Eastern Point Lighthouse and Atlantic Ave., to Rockport and back through Annisquam Village. The short and medium routes return to the start location in Manchester from Essex. The longest option continues to Ipswich before looping back to Manchester.

Scenic Options: The coastal shoreline offers many scenic vistas by taking short excursions from the route:

• Eastern Point after riding through Gloucester (open to bicycles and Mass Audubon members)
• Bearskin Neck in Rockport. Please ride extremely slowly or walk your bike to avoid hitting tourists on this quaint little street.
• Annisquam Village after Rockport (included on this route. A wooden footbridge takes you back to the highway)
• Concord Road ( This is shown on medium and long routes but anyone can do it. A scenic narrow road that winds past glacial erratics and crosses the salt marsh twice)
• Conomo Point between Gloucester and Essex (marked as Scenic Xtra). This short out and back ride offers outstanding views of Essex Bay and Crane Beach
• Crane Beach 5 mile extra out and back on Argilla Rd.
• Jeffreys Neck The long route has the option to add the 8 mile Jeffreys Neck loop in Ipswich.

This is a scenic tour with frequent turns, not designed for pace line riding. Please familiarize yourself with the route before arriving for the ride. If you are riding in a pack, make sure that the leader knows the route. The route is marked with a yellow circle and line. Recently re-arrowed by the ride leader.
