Start: Montserratt Train Station in Beverly, MA map to start
Directions: Exit 19 off of Rte 128 (Beverly/Sohier Rd/Brimbal Ave). Take immediate left, then right at T onto Brimbal Ave. Turn RT at T onto Essex St/Rte 22 after one mile. Station is on the right

What to expect: This is Mike Whalen's traditional Mother's Day Ride. The route travels the inner roads of the Cape Ann area, including North Beverly, Centerville, Essex, Manchester, Magnolia, Ipswich, and Hamilton. The Short version skips Essex, Manchester, and Magnolia. Easy scenic riding in horse country on quiet roads, with extraordinarily beautiful ocean views in Manchester and Magnolia. Long loop adds on an additional 8 scenic miles following the Jeffrey's Neck loop from the town wharf in Ipswich.
Reaching Montserrat by Commuter Rail:: The 8:30 AM commuter rail from North Station stops at Monserratt at 9:07 on Sundays to discharge passengers only when the conductor has been notified
Newburyport/Rockport Line Schedule
There may be a one mile section of Rt. 133 that has been milled for repaving. An easy way for the short loop cyclists to avoid this is to turn right on Chebacco Rd. off of Candlewood instead of going all the way to Rt. 133. Chebacco Rd. joins the long loop on Rt. 133 at the other end, adding about 2 miles to the short ride. The long ride is not affected by the pavement surfacing.
