Hello North Shore Cyclists,
First time Poster.
I was directed to your very impressive web-site by phone contact with a local Danvers bike shop.
My name is Bob Land. My wife, Deb, and I reside in Winston-Salem, N.C. Deb has a meeting at the Danvers Sheraton on Nov. 13, 14, 15 (Fri - Sun). In lieu of flying, we plan to drive our van so that we can have our "bike-stuff" (2 single road bikes and a tandem) -- [I'm sure you understand!!]
We will be arriving on Tues evening and will have all day on Wed & Thur for cycling exploration. Also, may be able to work in some shorter routes on Fri, Sat & Sun. Realizing that it is late in the season, we will be hoping for tolerable weather.
I have ordered and received "North Shore Road and Bicycle Map from MASSBIKE.org. I have spent considerable time comparing your Cue Sheets ("master list of NSC arrowed rides" with the map. Here is where we would greatly appreciate some assistance on route ideas which are coordinated with the Cue Sheets.
Specifically, one 50 - 60 mile route east of I-95/Hy1 possibly including Manchester, along the coast, circle Cap Ann, Essex, Ipswich & other points of interest or ideas.
For a second 50 - 60 male day, something primarily west of I-95. Would like to include some hills in this route. Are there many hills between I-95 and the Merrimack River? I assume that there are significantly more hills west of the Merrimack - extending into New Hampshire - possibly starting in Haverhill or Amesbury.
In summary, route suggestions which coincide with your Cue Sheet Rides would be greatly appreciated. I will be anxiously following this Forum for replies.
We live in the foothills of N.C. with many great cycling routes. Anybody headed "South", give us a "Holler".
Thanks, and Kind Regards,
Robert (Bob) Land
