North Shore Cyclists The Best Cycling North of Boston

Somerville Community Path , Somerville MA..  Alewife Linear Park and Somerville Community path create a paved bike trail east from the Alewife T-station in Cambridge to Somerville.

Amesbury Riverwalk , Amesbury MA. The 1.3-mile Amesbury Riverwalk (Powwow Riverwalk) starts at Water Street in Amesbury MA and will eventually connect with the Salisbury Point Ghost Train Trail as part of the Border to Boston Trail.

Bedford Narrow Gauge Rail Trail , Bedford MA. This stone dust trail extends access from Cambridge on the Minuteman Bike Path to Billerica

Border to Boston Trail, A 28-mile shared use trail passing through eight communities from the New Hampshire border to the Massachusetts North Shore.

Bradford Rail Trail , The path extends between Middlesex Street and South Elm Street in Bradford MA

Bridge Street Bike Trail , from Curtis Park  through downtown Salem MA.

Clipper City Rail Trail & Harborwalk,  1.1-miles, connecting the commuter rail station to the Merrimack River in Newburyport. 

Danvers Rail Trail , utilizing the former Newburyport Railroad line between Danvers MA and Boston,  extending  4 miles south from the Wenham town line, through Danvers  to Peabody

Independence Greenway , Peabody MA-- two sections, one along Lowell St from the North Shore Mall to Rt. 1, then picking up again on the other side of the highway and continuing to the Middleton town line.

Ipswich Center to Crane Beach Recreational Trail  A proposed walking path from the commuter rail station in Ipswich MA to Crane Beach, using the right-of-way along Argilla Road.

Lowell Canal System Trails , a  5.6 mile walkway along Lowell's former power canal system.

Marblehead Rail-Trail , a 4.1-mile  mixed-surface rail-trail connecting Marblehead to Salem MA.

Mass Central Rail Trail , Worcester MA. Proposed A 104 mile trail along a former rail line.

Minuteman Bikeway , 11 miles from  Cambridge to Bedford MA

Methuen Rail Trail  Proposed 1.5 mile trail along abandoned tracks from Derry, NH to Methuen MA

Nashua River Rail Trail  A 10 ft. wide paved path 11 miles through the towns of Ayer, Groton, Pepperell and Dunstable MA to the NH state line.

Old Eastern Marsh Trail , 1.4 miles from the north bank of the Merrimack River ito Mudnock Rd. in Salisbury MA

Salisbury Point Ghost Trail , 1 mile unpaved trail through the woods in Salisbury MA

Topsfield Linear Common , Topsfield MA. Currently completed from Washington Street to Summer Street.
