Gravel Bike Weekend - June 21-23, 2024
Come to the Northeast Kingdom for a weekend (or longer) of gravel biking.
The North Shore Cyclists is sponsoring a weekend of gravel riding in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont (NEK), which is the northeast corner of the state. Tom Evers and Pat Stabler, two NSC club members and avid all-terrain cyclists, own a house in Lyndonville, just outside of East Burke, and are glad to host this weekend event and have riders join them in the grandeur of the NEK. Gravel riding in Vermont is primarily on fairly smooth dirt roads (after mud season!), though with some class 4 (unmaintained) roads. No single track. Lots of climbing though!
Riders can opt to arrive early or stay after to do more gravel riding or try out the wonderful Kingdom Trails mountain biking. Pat and Tom will be there from Thursday to Monday night, so folks can stay for just Friday and/or Saturday night or arrive earlier/stay later. First come, first serve for reserving a spot inside Tom and Pat's house in Lyndonville. Or there is plenty of camping in their yard. There are also lots of places to stay or camp in the area.
Breakfasts at Cafe Lotti--best bacon ever!. After the rides, drinks at the Tiki Bar! Potluck BBQ at Pat and Tom's Saturday night.
Please let Pat and Tom know if you are interested in participating and if you want space in the house or to camp in their yard. They will wait to hear from NSC folks before opening it up to other people in early May.
