Join the NSC email list (listserve) to receive the latest news about upcoming NSC rides, calendar updates, ride cancellations, NSC events, and other club activities.

Remember:

  • Members are not automatically added to the listserve because many members choose not to be on the listserve.
  • Many persons sign up for the listserve but are not Club members.

Please ensure that your membership is current as many emails are sent to members from the website, and not via the listserve. So receiving emails from the listserve does not mean that your membership is active.

Subscribe to the listserve
  • Send email to nsc-subscribe@nscyc.org and put Subscribe in the subject line.
  • You will receive an email with the subject "confirm subscribe to nsc@nscyc.org", click REPLY to confirm your subscription

Who can send emails to the listserve?

NSC Ride Leaders and Board Members moderate the listserv and can send / forward email to the list at nsc@nscyc.org. All postings to the list are reviewed by the list moderators

The NSC club strives to maintain an efficient and uncluttered listserv. It primarily serves NSC Ride Coordinators and ride leaders for sending notifications of upcoming rides. Initial thank you notes, primarily for Sunday rides, can also be published to the listserv.

Commercial messages, off-topic and general discussion items, and ride thank you's or follow up comments on rides other than an initial thank you for a Sunday ride will not be published to the list. Such messages should be directed to the ride leader(s) for a ride or to Ride Coordinators

Can I reply to listserve emails?

You can reply directly to the sender with questions, comments, and concerns.

List Guidelines

Commercial messages, off-topic and general discussion items, and ride thank you's or follow up comments on rides other than an initial thank you for a Sunday ride will not be published to the list. Such messages should be directed to the ride leader(s) for a ride or to Ride Coordinators

Communicating with the Club

Members, please use the following means of communicating with the club:

  • Email the NSC Board regarding posts to the email list or membership to disseminate pertinent club items, including ride, calendar, website or other suggestions as well as road hazards not pertaining to a particular ride.
  • Email the ride leader as posted on the website with comments or concerns about a specific ride or send your message to Ride Coordinators.
  • Email Membership with membership questions
  • Contact the email list coordinator if you are having trouble subscribing or unsubscribing or have questions about the list

Ride leaders and Board members can use the email list to post rides and notices to list members.

Board members mainly use the website mail system for emails to NSC Club members.

Managing Incoming NSC Messages

If ride notifications and other messages from nsc@nscyc.org are disappearing into your spam folder, you may need to adjust the spam filter of your email client. Below are instructions for how do so in the Gmail email client. If you use a different email client, please consult the settings documentation for that client.

  • Go to Settings in Gmail (the Gear Wheel in the upper right corner).
  • Select See All Settings
  • Select Filters and Blocked Addresses (located among the options at the top of the page)
  • Select Create a New Filter
  • Add "nsc@nscyc.org" to the TO: line
  • Select Create Filter
  • Click on check box for "Never send it to Spam"
  • Select Create Filter

All incoming mail sent to "nsc@nscys.org" will go to the inbox and not to spam.

While this fix is for the Gmail email client, it should, in principle, be possible to do something similar with any major email client.

Always consult the NSC Calendar of Rides for last minutes updates and cancellations.
