North Shore Cyclists is pleased to offer a ride leader training session on April 18 from 6:45 - 9:00 p.m. at the Gould Barn in Topsfield. The program is open to all current ride leaders and NSC members who would like to become ride leaders this year. Please register here by April 17 if you plan to attend.   

This training program aims to promote a consistent culture of ride leadership and rider safety across all NSC sponsored rides. It is an opportunity for club members interested in becoming ride leaders to learn the process and for current ride leaders to share and refresh their knowledge.  

The training session will cover:
·      NSC Ride Culture
·      Ride leader role before, during, and after rides
·      Safety considerations and relevant traffic laws
·      Reviewing routes
·      Pre- and in-ride communications
·      What to do in an emergency and club insurance
·      Useful skills and supplies for leading rides
·      Ride Leader Tools and information on the NSC web site

The training session will be preceded by a mixer from 6:15-6:45 p.m. Some light meal fare and beverages will be provided by the club. Attendees are also welcome to bring their own food / beverage. Thirty minutes for questions and discussion will be provided at the end of the program.
